The original locomotive was manufactured by Robert Stephenson & Co. in Newcastle and transported in sections via the Port of Rotterdam and Cologne before reaching Nuremberg, where it was reassembled in the Johann Wilhelm Spaeth workshops. The accompanying carriages were produced locally from wood. On December 7, 1835, this historic train completed its first journey over a 6.04 km route between the Furth and Nuremberg stations.
