Heraklis is a steam tugboat built in 1907 in San Francisco. It served as an ocean-going tug, frequently assisting sailing ships traveling north from San Francisco against prevailing northwesterly winds. The vessel was used for towing barges to other West Coast ports and Hawaii, as well as transporting equipment for the construction of the Panama Canal.

In 1947, Heraklis and the tug Monarch were tasked with towing the hull of the battleship Oklahoma to San Francisco Bay for scrapping. About 500 miles from Hawaii, a powerful storm struck, causing Oklahoma to flood and sink. Heraklis narrowly escaped being dragged down with the battleship. In 1986, Heraklis was declared a National Historic Landmark and is now exhibited in the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, moored at Hyde Street Pier.
