This detailed scale model kit from OCCRE is designed at a 1:32 scale, resulting in a completed model measuring approximately 720 mm in length, 153 mm in height, and 100 mm in width. Classified as a difficult build, it is best suited for experienced model builders who enjoy intricate locomotive model projects.

The S3/6 BR-18 locomotive, created at the J. A. Maffei workshops in Munich on July 16, 1908, was equipped with the largest engine ever assembled by this manufacturer and is still regarded as one of the most beautiful locomotives in the history of German railways. In 1951, the S 3/6 successfully completed a long-distance journey from Hamburg to Munich, hauling a 150-ton load over 180 kilometers with only one stop for water. The designation “S” stands for “Schnellzuglocomotiven,” indicating a locomotive intended for long-distance express service, while “3/6” refers to the number of driving axles in relation to the total number of axles.

These locomotives were primarily used on long-distance lines in Bavaria and hauled famous trains such as the Orient Express, Rheingold, Ostend-Vienna Express, and Paris-Carlsbad-Prague Express. Over its service life, the locomotive underwent numerous variations, mainly involving the cab, boiler, and engine mechanisms, making this S3/6 BR-18 model an appealing choice for collectors and enthusiasts of historic German steam locomotives.
