This wooden ship model kit is presented in a 1:54 scale and is designed for experienced model builders. When assembled, the model measures approximately 815 mm in length, 680 mm in height, and 300 mm in width. The construction level is classified as difficult, making it suitable for advanced hobbyists seeking a detailed and challenging project.

The vessel represented in this kit was originally built in the summer of 1764 under the name Earl Pembroke. It was a 368-ton ship with a length of 106 meters, a keel length of 97 feet, and a maximum beam of 29 feet, providing excellent stability. Although initially constructed as a coal-fired vessel, it was later rigged with both triangular and traditional square sails to ensure efficient movement at sea. Subsequently, the ship was taken over by the Royal Navy, renamed and used for exploration voyages.

Refitting took place at the Deptford shipyard near London, where the decks, cabins, and accommodation areas were adapted for officers, scientists, servants, marines, and crew, with a total complement of ninety-four men. Under the command of Captain James Cook, the ship departed on a circumnavigation voyage on August 8, 1768, and returned to London on July 13, 1771. The expedition focused on observing the transit of Venus between the Sun and the Earth, calculating distances between celestial bodies, and using this information to estimate the scale of the universe. The ship later sank off the coast of Rhode Island in 1790 while engaged in naval action.

This model kit offers a historically accurate representation of the original vessel, providing a detailed sailing ship model for hobbyists interested in maritime history, wooden ship modeling, and complex scale models. Assembly instructions are provided in English.
